Two people have been taken to hospital after a car overturned on a busy road.

City Way in Rochester was closed between the junctions with Pattens Lane and Old Pattens Lane, after a crash between two cars.

Police, paramedics and fire crews were called to the accident at around 9.40am today (June 3).

The force said one of the vehicles had overturned and a woman was treated for injuries before being taken to a local hospital.

An ambulance spokesperson said: “Crews attended and two people have been assessed and treated before being taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.”

Three fire engines attended the scene and crews used hydraulic equipment to remove one person from a vehicle. The fire service left the scene at 10.29am.

As of midday, the road was reopened after the cars were recovered.
