Rail services were suspended after a train hit a tree.
The incident occurred at Wye shortly after 10am today and trains between Canterbury West and Ashford were temporarily halted.
Posting on X at 12.17pm, Southeastern said: "The evacuation of passengers from the train at #Wye has finished.
"We currently expect the line to reopen at approximately 13:00, with disruption expected until 14:30.
"Staff will now work to get the train that hit the tree on the move."
A further update said the 1.27pm service from Ashford to Minster would be the first train through the affected area.
By 1.41pm, the line had reopened.
A replacement bus service ran between Ashford and Canterbury East while the trains were suspended.
Network Rail South East posted on X: “We are sorry for the delays to your journey caused by a train hitting a tree in the #Wye area.
“Teams are working to deal with the damaged train as we speak and allow for normal service to resume as quickly as possible.
“We thank all on board for their patience.”
The incident follows heavy rainfall across the county yesterday evening.
A weather warning for thunderstorms and downpours was extended until 9pm.
